Windy day on the beach
Clara's Cache has been revived. The original cache (an ammunition tin) was swept away in a storm, washed up, salvaged, and passed over to the Parish Council. We revived it at a new location a few meters from the original site, but then the original can was stolen and had to be replaced with a less desirable plastic click box. The original can was subsequently “recovered”, but is now in well-earned retirement.
Clara's Cache is on the beach at Pevensey Bay where William Duke of Normandy is historically claimed to have landed in 1066.
Before removing the cache, please note how it has been placed, and cover it carefully as you (hopefully) found it. The location is very open, and care should be taken to obscure it from the casual muggle.
The Gallery from the old site have been copied over, and show this location in its many moods. The light is always changing on the foreshore, which makes it a constant attraction for artists and photographers
Dawn at low tide
To reach the cache by car, we recommend the suggested parking place as the road along the foreshore is private, and the obvious roads leading to the foreshore offer few opportunities for parking. The suggested location for parking is in a residential road which is less congested, particularly in the summer. To get to the cache you will walk along the foreshore in front of an interesting 1930's house defended by a cannon.
Keep Out!
We know this cache is frequently visited by non-cachers, and strongly suggest you do not leave geo-coins or TBs that might tempt the magpie element.
