Geocache Description:

This is a magnetic micro in the form of a small rectangular tube covered with green duck tape.
It contains only a log so have a pencil to hand.

Houston’s Mill stands at the edge of Broughshane village, known as the garden village of Ulster. The Mill was a derelict 18th century flax scutching mill which has now been extensively restored and is used as a community centre. The grounds have picnic tables, sites and services for motor homes and well maintained flower beds and some relics of the original mill machinery can be viewed. There are also several attractive old lampposts now modified with energy saving electric bulbs.
A distinctive National Cycle Network post is in the grounds, as is an unusual wooden sculpture depicting a hand holding oak leaves and acorns. It represents “hands–on” involvement of the local community association in the development of Acorn Wood and riverside path projects which can be viewed across the road. Following the path will allow you to visit Buttermilk Bridge cache.

The ancestors of General Sam Houston (the man who brought Texas into the Union) came from this area.
