Song in Your Heart is a geocache with a theme (one of six arts-themed caches by Salida) . Everyone has a favorite song, yes? When you log in, please write the title (or fragment) of the song that is in your heart at that moment. If you visit the cache at another time, there may be a different song in your heart. One’s heart can hold many songs! Salida (cache owner) has given a favorite old song new lyrics to help you locate the cache, because the terrain makes the coordinates a bit shaky.
Start in the main parking lot of the Mill Pond Recreational Area on route 113 in West Newbury, and sing as you go: Song in Your Heart Cache: (Sing to the tune of Somewhere Over the Rainbow)Somewhere, out by the Mill Pond, there’s a cache. Park, then walk to the water, past the “hut”, to the shore. Take the trail that is marked blue, follow the northern branch. When you reach the ridge, you are near it (don’t descend the hill). Sometimes it’s rocky, rooty, muddy –don’t be timid, for the trail is well-marked. Beware of people, dogs and horses –it’s a favorite place to visit; watch for Muggles! When you’re up on the ridge, then look all ‘round. Where the stone wall rests against an old oak, that’s where the cache is found!
