Geocache Description:

This Cache overlooks the final resting place of a number of Southern Heros.

You are looking for a cache housed in the storage container for an M889 mortar round. Think of it as "an ammo box for 1 round." These can hold their share of goodies while being able to both seal and hide well, as you will find out. The location is off St. Brides Road, at a point where there are cemetaries on both sides of the road. While there is parking, you can see the area has decorative fencing across the front and around the monument to protect the gravesites of the heros buried here. The cache is NOT located near the monument proper or any of the gravesites. Start your search elsewhere. It is not necessary to walk among the headstones, so please don't. However, do be sure to look at them. Buried here are men who fought in some of the bloodiest battles of the War of Northern Aggression such as: The Crater, Battle of Fredricksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, Wilcox Farm, Davis Farm, Burgess Mill and Hatcher's Run. Do take a moment to rest a moment in the quiet countryside, look at the monument read the plaque and allow you mind to wander back to the 1860's. Not much has really changed at this quiet spot.
