This is a fascinating historical precinct, with numerous plaques commemorating various significant events and people in Phillip Island’s history.
The cache will be in plain view unless camo'd carefully after replacing - please take the time to do this, as it's a popular area. Many thanks!
The cache is located at:
ab° c.dee
mno° p.qr
where:
a = the number of years by which Elizabeth’s age exceeds John’s
b = yz – wx where wxyz is the year the well was sunk
c = George’s age when he set off on his whaleboat voyage of exploration
d = the number of months after James Grant that John Murray visited Rhyll
--ee = the year Captain Lock was born
--m- = when Lizzie got some work done on her bottom
n = John & Elizabeth’s weight, divided by the number of ketches and cutters Captain Lock owned
o = the number of times the letter “a” appears in John & Elizabeth’s names
p = the day George and his seamen reached this point in Rhyll
--q- = when the ill-fated oystering venture began
r = the day Lt. Grant and Lady Nelson arrived
Please respect this site – the cache can be found and retrieved without trashing the garden (it isn’t in or under any of the bushes). But please make sure you replace the camo securely - for some reason this one is often found in plain sight.
