Situated near a popular tramping hut, picnic spot, about 30 minutes walk along well formed track from the Graham Valley Car Park. Note that extreme caution is required when driving up the road to the car park.
This can be taken as about a 1 hour round trip from the Graham Valley Car Park to the Flora Hut and back, or as part of a longer circuit taking in "Flora and Fauna" and "Arthur Way Up". The longer circuit would take 3.5 to 4.5 hours.
The shorter route is suitable for children as we observed a family with quite young children picnicing in the area while we were placing the cache. However, with water nearby and alpine weather conditions subject to rapid change, as always - be prepared.
A while ago DOC (Department of Conservation) announced intentions to remove this hut. I think the public outcry has let it stay put so far.
The cache is situated between the hut and the stream that runs past it.
