Geocache Description:

Wher-da-mule-at?

This cache is located about a mile East from where the old (1800 era) ferry landing was. This is where the ferry would bring travelers across Escambia bay before a bridge was built. Back in those days the white travelers were met with a stagecoach and transported on to Milton (Scratch Ankle) or points East. The Black travelers were compelled to wait for the stagecoach driver to tell the buckboard driver to take the mule and go get the other travelers. Well frequently the next stage coach would arrive before the buckboard pulled by the mule would arrive. So "Wher-da-mule-at?" was frequently heard. Hence the name of the area became known as, Mulat. Cache contains a tiger, horse, gold coin and OBnSue's world famous wooden nickel #3. Bring a pen to sign the log. You might want to drive West on MacMillan Rd, to the marina at the dead end and enjoy the view. Spectacular sunsets in the evening.
