Geocache Description:

In celebration of David&Diana's awesome achievement of finding 5,000 caches, I wanted to introduce the new generation of nano's to commemorate their milestone. I think they will like this type nano. Even in the woods.

David and Diana have been members of geocaching.com since February 14, 2001, and are among the earliest cachers in our area. Their love affair with caching has not diminished! They have achieved many milestones through the years. They found their first cache in February '01 and then had their first FTF on March 17, 2001. Caches were few and far in between back then. They logged cache #2006 in year 2006 on March 17th. They earned a Bronze Medal in The Furniture City Marathon. They have planned and taken "caching vacations." On February 18, 2007, they completed the NC DeLorme Challenge driving over 4,000 miles all across our state. On June 18, 2007, David&Diana logged a cache in Chowan County to complete their personal quest to log a cache in each of NC's 100 counties. The hard part wasn't going to Chowan County and finding the cache. It was waiting for someone to place a cache to be found. In March 2008, they completed the SC DeLorme Challenge and found caches in all 46 counties of SC. They logged a FTF on the NC County Challenge within hours of being published in March 2008. Congratulations David and Diana!! May you have many more caching adventures!

This tribute cache is a new-generation, non-magnetic "nano" out in the woods. Finding a regular nano in the woods is NOT favored by David and Diana. I know I said I would never hide a nano in the woods, but this great milestone deserves something special and memorable. It will make you say, 'Now, THIS is a nano made for the woods!'

The cache is located in C.G. Hill Park. Old fencing does not define the boundaries of the park. It was farmland before it was a park. Enjoy the hike!

PARK HOURS: check the park's website for specifics, but generally it is open 7:00am and gate locked at dark.
