This cache is named for the Red Tail Hawk tail feather I found when
I was placing this cache. There are many other bird feathers
scattered about, so I gather this is a perching area or there is
some cunning wildlife that can take down these birds. Maybe both is
true.
Neverless, you have a good chance of spotting an assortment of
raptors and other creatures in this area if you pay attention.
This cache has been placed in recognition of my recent induction
as a volunteer at the Birds of Prey Rescue Facility this month. On
my first day, I helped feed an injured Great Horned Owl!
If you're interested in learning more, I encourage you to visit
their website: "http://birds-of-prey.org/cm/home/" and donate or
volunteer if you are able. They are operated completely by
donations and sales at their thrift shop in Louisville. Last year,
they rescued and released several hundred injured birds!
Watch your step! ...and please hide the cache where and how you
found it...thanks!
(Recommended parking is at Safeway, take the path to the east of
the building. The walk is less than .25 mile.)
Congrats to Eighth Generation American and RkyMtnCloud for beating
leolund to be the FTF! Ü
