This cache is hidden along a trail which follows the old C&O Railroad right-of-way along the Maury River between Lexington and Buena Vista. In 1881 the first train chugged into Lexington along this trail and rail service ended completely on August 20, 1969, as a result of Hurricane Camille.
An easy, short hike of approximately one-tenth of a mile will take you to the cache. Terrain is rated as "2" because there are several narrow passages that would make it impossible for wheelchairs or bikes to access this. Accessible dawn to dusk.
Small lock'n lock contains log book & pen, tea lights, wooden Uncle Sam, raccoon pencil sharpener, decorated bookmark, advertising letter opener, and FTF button.
