All cachers
welcome! Come join us at the second SCSG Georgia Poker Run Event.
No poker experience needed, just come come to have some fun or just
hang out. The event will take place at the beautiful and scenic
Richard B. Russell State Park. We will have a catered meal lakeside
by Satchamo's BBQ with all the fixings for $10.50 per person.(This
may change depending on people attending. Price is based on caterer
charge.) Guest are welcome to bring a sack lunch if BBQ is not your
favorite. Please list below in your logs if you will be bringing
your own lunch. This will help me better judge the amount to tell
the caterer. There will be prizes for the winners of the best poker
hands. Also a raffle for a prize separate from the poker run if
some choose not to play poker. There will be a reserved pavilion
with picnic tables and extra chairs available. To make sure no one
is without a seat bring your own, it may be more comfortable than
ours. Be sure to keep a check on the event page for details and
updates. There will be a charge of 10.00 per gps'r participant for
the poker run which will go toward all event expenses not profit.
This charge can be shared if you want to team up with someone. But
only one prize per caching name or team. If teaming up with someone
please post in your logs below. Remember to bring your best Poker

MENU: Chopped BBQ, Baby Back ribs, sides
consisting of one or more of the following - cole slaw, potato
salad, baked beans and dessert ( 4-15-09 Just included Venison BBQ,
Mexican Style, compliments of the Hunter of Harthunter

Refreshments and snacks
will be provided upon return from the
trails.
Just a glimpse of the
prizes in store. A variety of donations are starting to come in
from outdoor items, collectables, camping gear, hiking gear, gift
cards to geo coins. And more to come!
*Feel free to
bring a donation for the prize table, but this is not a
requirement.*
Time Schedule
11:00 am check in begins
11:30 am BBQ lunch with Satchamo's by the
lake
12:30 pm Start of poker run - cachers begin
to head out ( Cachers have 3 1/2 hours to complete the 12 drawn
cache hides hidden in the woods along approximately 3 miles of
trails)
4:00 pm Ending of poker run - time for all
cachers to return to base
4:30 pm Time to make your best poker hand,
prizes awarded and social time!

Park is located northeast of Elberton on Ruckersville Road. It
offers a variety of outdoor activities which include camping,
picnicing, boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, beach volley ball,
27-hole disc golf course, an olympic size rowing course and a
18-hole Par 72 golf course with Club House & Driving
range.
Vistors wishing to
remain over night can choose from one of the 17 fully furnished
cottages. Or choose from 28 campsites with hookups for water,
electric and cable TV. All sites are located near a modern comfort
station with hot showers, laundry facility, a phone and playground.

Park pass: A
parking fee is required at all state parks, and proceeds go toward
