This Cache looks to be just off East bound I-8, but you CAN’T get to it SAFELY from the freeway, there is a large, high, rock bank between the hwy.,and the desert floor where the cache is. Please don’t try. But it’s a very interesting canyon, use BLM Route # 161 to get to it, from the Ocotillo area......
This is my family's first hide, and we wanted to do something different, so we made it a "Trading Post for Refrigerator Magnets", everyone has some and we had a bunch. So please trade with the THEME.
As for the area, this is the site of a terrible accident that happened years ago. From what we know a truck driver lost control of his semi truck, and went over the side of the highway above, and lost his life. He was hauling fruit down the hill to the Imperial Valley. You can still find pieces of his truck, and his load. We've been told that there is a monument from his family on the hill up the canyon from the cache, but have not yet found it. If you do, please take a picture and post it to the gallery of this cache.
To get there go West out of Ocotillo toward the STEEL railroad bridge, under the bridge. South West toward West bound I-8, under W/B I-8. and W on BLM #161
The Cache is a 3# camouflaged coffee can, and has lots of
Refrig Magnets in it.......
