Mountain Calling Traditional Cache
Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Mountain Calling is the place to go to get your outdoor fix – when the pull of Mule Mountain and the surrounding hills beckon. This is your staging area for GeoFun!
All Mtn Adventures begin with the first step. Isn’t it amazing, all the outdoor fun that is available in the north state? Visit Mountain Calling and begin your adventure. With trails named Wintu, Meiner’s Loop, Escalator, and Mule Mountain, hikers, bikers, and equestrians have plenty of room to roam in this BLM wonderland. Flat trails down low, and the hills have everything from wide and smooth to rocky singletrack. This BLM GeoGem leads into Whiskeytown National Recreational Area.
Thanks to the question of 5inCalif4Geo. . ."Where do I park to bag Going Up!" Now I can tell people park at the BLM parking area, and grab this cache when you hear (Mule) Mountain Calling.
Leave the lowlands of Mountain Calling and be prepared for vistas around every bend, get out and explore. If you are lucky, in addition to mountain vistas, you might see some turkeys, fox, owls, bear, snakes and even homes of some woodrats (see "Pack Rats")
Small container replaces the Ammo Can that popped. No need to bushwhack or crawl through any noxious weeds as they all burned in the fire of 2012. Not accessible to young cachers, will be height challenged.
