Geocache Description:

This is part of the extensive forest that once covered parts of Masterton. First settled in 1854, the bush formed part of Charles & Mary Dixon’s Worksop Farm. In the 1880’s the Dixon family subdivided their land, and lawyer A.R. Bunny, bought a substantial area, including the bush. The bush area later became known locally as Bunny’s Bush.

In the early 1940s the area was sold to the Garland family and was then referred to as Garland’s Bush. Following subdivision in 1979, the Masterton Borough Council bought the remaining bush area and opened it as a reserve.

Access is from the end of McKenna Street. The cache is a 200ml Sistema container. Please bring your own pen/pencil.
