One of my favorite hikes in Arizona is the hike to the top of
Picacho Peak. See:
http://azstateparks.com/Parks/PIPE/index.html

This cache is located near the summit of the peak, above the
confluence of the Hunter and Sunset trails. You take either the
Hunter or Sunset Vista Trails up to where they meet: if you haven't
been to the park before, please know that you will be climbing
steep hills and scaling rocks with the assistance of cables pounded
into the rock.

There is a small spur that leaves the trail heading north
northwest. The route has loose rock, and there are no protective
cables to hold, so proceed with caution [I am not responsible for
injury]. Other risks include scratches, cactus, and snakes.
However, it really isn't much worse than climbing the peak is in
the first place.
This is a picture of the cache site. It needs to be very clearly
understood that THE CACHE IS NOT ON TOP OF THE CLIFF, but on a
shelf halfway down the face!!! I suggest searching for the cache on
the way DOWN from the peak.
