Well, this is the second cache I've had to replace in Whitney. Why people take them is beyond me. Anyway, I replaced it and since it's not a cookie tin anymore I've renamed it. At Whitney State Forest, head down the gravel road but take a right onto one of the side trails and find the fence line and follow it. Look for quartz. BEWARE OF POISON IVY ON THE SIDES OF THE TRAIL AND AT GZ! You can avoid it, but you have to watch where you are walking.
Also, as of 3/3/11, the field is overgrown with thorns so the best way to head towards the cache is to get to the green sheds and head through the pine forest.
