One of Ohio's many covered bridges. This one is Brown Covered
Bridge located in Brown County, Ohio. This is a single span, Smith
truss bridge that spans 144' over White Oak Creek. It was built in
1881 and was closed to motor traffic in the late 1990's. Bridge #
35-08-04.
At their regular meeting on Dec. 10, 1879, the Brown County
Commissioners voted to construct a bridge of White Oak Creek near
the residence of Robert Brown. On Jan. 9, 1880, the abutment
contract was awarded to John Kennedy and the bridge contract went
to the Smith Bridge Company, of Toledo, Ohio for $16.50 per lineal
foot. Abutment stones came from the Robert Brown Farm. Foundation
work fell behind schedule until mid-April 1881. The total bill due
was $2376. John Griffith, a well-known local bridge builder, worked
on the superstructure of the bridge. The Brown Covered Bridge is
impressive with its width of 22.5 feet overall with a 17-foot
roadway. County records provide no explanation for such a wide
bridge. In 2003, the old bridge was restored to its original
condition.

This should be an easy find, even for and inexperienced cacher.
You're looking for a small plastic jar with a little bit of room
for trade items. Started out with log, pencil, and a few of my sig
rifle shells. This cache also qualifies towards 5BizzyBs Under
Cover Ohio Challenge (GC1KQ0J) found
here. Please post a picture of yourself at the bridge. The lid
screws off. Please do not try to pry it off.
Congrats to wounded Knee for the FTF!!
