RDP Submarine base Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

L Frank: Wow! I had no idea that the flood of July 26, 2022 would have covered this area with debris. The cache may still be there, but it is under 4 feet of flood debris. This area is no longer safe for a cache and it's obvious that the city is not going to clean it up any time soon. I'm sure Karl will understand that this one has to go.

Geocache Description:

This is the last active cache belonging to Menehune2. Karl passed away on February 25, 2010. Karl was a friend of mine and he loved to geocache. He also loved to find Geocoins. He placed this secure cache knowing that it was a good place for trackables. We all miss Karl, he was a really good person. I also want to thank his brother, Bill, for allowing me to adopt this cache.

YOU CAN NO LONGER ACCESS CACHE FROM KINGSLAND. Now you must enter the neighborhood from Delmar and Trinity or ( I recommend ) walk from "Another dogtown" cache just West along the creek. Honeysuckle is a green wall on the East side also.

It seems there are no LARGE caches in the City so this an attempt to rectify that. Here is a place for all your large swag and travel bugs you want to pass on. This is a area we used to play in when I was a kid, slightly dangerous but good for the imagination. This cache is in a 5 gallon bucket placed in the RDP watershed. Access can be difficult and can only be reached by walking in from the East or the West. If approaching from the East make sure to keep gate closed. Some bushwhacking will have to be done from either direction. Parking is easier at the two nearby caches and the walk is less than 10 mins.
Please BE CAREFUL around the submarine base, and rehide the Cache as you found it so the challenge is there for the next person.
