The cache is hidden near the Old Fire Station at Ripley. Built in
1911 for the Ripley Volunteer Fire Brigade it was in use until the
1950’s when the district fire service was absorbed into the
Surrey Fire Brigade. In 1960 the fire station was restored to
it’s original form so that the local scout group could use
the building as its headquarters.
On front of the building is a plaque that reads:
“Ripley Fire Station 1911 until 1960 This building was
restored to its original form in memory of Don Wood a leader and
benefactor of the 1st Ripley Scout Group Completed
1992”
