The lodge was built as the entrance to Dunsborough Park and was once described as a 'Strange Tudor Pastiche'. Compared to other buildings in Ripley it is modern, been built in 1939 by Sir Oliver Simmonds who owned Dunsborough.
Dunsborough Park is thought to date back to the mid 1500s with the central part of the house dating back to about 1630.
The gardens are open as part of the National Garden Scheme about 3 times a year.
