J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area Wedged between Florida’s expanding Gold Coast to the east and south and orange groves and agricultural fields to the west is 60,228-acre Corbett Wildlife Management Area. For at least 2000 years before Europeans arrived, Indians inhabited this land, burying their dead in mounds, accumulating the remains of their meals in middens, and traveling by canoe, sometimes on man-made causeways. In the 1800s the Seminoles sought refuge from the U.S. Army in Hungryland Slough. Today you can hunt deer, feral hog, turkey, and snipe in designated hunting areas and explore pine flat woods, cypress swamps, and a hardwood hammock on Hungryland Boardwalk and Trail.
This is a 6 Stage Mutli. 5 micro's and the final is an ammo box. Stages 1 though 5 are basically waypoints. Please stay on the Florida trail! All stages are not far from the trail.Watch for the orange marks on the trees. you can loose the trail if you don't pay attention. Double orange marks mean a change in direction on the trail.Plan on getting your feet wet and muddy. January though April are the driest. watch for snakes and gators, I have come across them on the trail. Bring your bug spray for the warmer days and plenty of water, snacks, cell phone and a flash light wouldn't hurt. The final location will take you to what I think is the crown jewel of the Corbett. You can camp here. A day use permit is required at the gate. The fee is $3dollars. Directions to trail head. Take Northlake blvd west to the end.Make a right on Seminole Pratt Whitney rd. Road turns in to a dirt road. Take it all the way to the end. Make a left at the entrance follow road to youth camp and take dirt rd on the left right before the youth camp gate to parking area. Have fun and be safe!
