This is a lovely little lake, nestled atop a mountain. It is the first freshwater lake to freeze in the winter. And in the winter time there is ice skating!! Start at the Lake Loop Trail.
The cache is in a lock & lock sandwhich sized container. A log book, pencil, pencil sharpner, and items to trade are inside. Also this is where Stickler will be starting his journey.
There is dense tree covereage, but not to worry...there are several clear areas to get satelite signal. The cache is locate near one of these areas.
Stop just before the third bridge, it sounds like people are talking...spooky!
WORDS OF CAUTION: This trail is in an area that can receive quite a lot of snow in the winter time, and is NOT maintained. If you are to seek this cache in the winter take hiking poles for stability, snowshoes if it is a fresh snow, and warm boots and clothing. PREPARE FOR WINTER WEATHER IF SEEKING THIS CACHE IN THE WINTER MONTHS!
Also:
ATTENTION: The parking area for this park is NOT, I repeat NOT MAINTAINED IN WINTER. Park at your own risk. Have good winter tires or a shovel (trust me on this one) when parking here in winter. Fee's may apply, although I have never seen a pay station.
