This is a popular scenic stop at the top o the hill between Coromandel Town and Whangapoua Turnoff (SH25). Steps up.
Fantastic views to the North of Coromandel Town and South taking in Matarangi and Kuaotunu from this scenic lookout. Seats and rock platform to aid your viewing pleasure.
Below the scenic lookout is the Kaipawa Trig Track approx 2 ½ hours to the Lucas Lookout parking area. Choice of either walking one way and being picked up at the other end or walking to the Kaipawa Trig and returning to the Coromandel End. Please note warnings to keep to tracks because of overgrown mine entrances in this area.
Have taken the co-ords on two different days to try and get an accurate reading. Extreme Stealth is required as this is a very busy place. You may have to sit it out for a while to get a clear space to find cache. It has been placed where you can disappear from view to SL etc etc. Please note it is not necessary to bush bash excessively, trust your GPS and is within reach from path.
The Cache is a small sized 1L sistema container with Dark Green Camo with a NZ Theme for its contents. Please try to continue the theme.
