Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This Cache has been placed to encourage people to visit the remains of Fort Fareham and enjoy a circular walk around the woodland surrounding the Fort and its moat.
This little woodland area is managed by the Rangers of Fareham Hampshire who are very supportive of Geocaching, you can do this cache quickly but it would be a shame to visit here without spending some time to explore its secrets.
The pathways are clearly marked out and there is no need to leave the main pathway until you reach the final location which is only just off the path. The paths are partly gravelled but can get muddy after heavy rain. If you do decide to follow the circular walk please be aware that there is small road to cross which allows access to an industrial site. Dogs are welcome to explore with you but please remember to pick up after them.
The coordinates above are not those of the cache, but for suggested parking.
The final cache is hidden at: N 50° 50 B(A+C)C W 001° 11 BA(A+C)
You will need to head to this location to get the clues to work out the final coordinates.
Location: N 50° 50.378 W 001° 11.443
At this point you will need the following information:
"During its time in operation (1914-19A8), a total of B,573 men and 2,C24 women passed through Fort Fareham, over 3,000 of these provided written statements detailing war crimes."
The final cache is a small clip lock box full of goodies in a camouflaged bag, please hide the cache well using local materials to avoid it being muggled.
(Oh and the Trouble part.. Trouble is our cat, well we couldn't leave him out of Geocaching completely!)
