Geocache Description:

This cache is located on some back roads of extreme South-Western Hardin County.

While out looking for what I hoped would be Hardin Counties second surviving steel bridge I was lucky enough to find what was left of the Spurrier Mill. Unfortunately the bridge is long gone, but if you look close enough to where the new bridge is you will see the old approach to the old bridge.

I don’t know much history of the old mill and I welcome any one who can shed light on the subject. The area where the mill used to be is a beautiful area, with a large rock cliff on the opposite side of the river. The mill dam is still intact and you can make out the old foundation of the old mill very near to where this cache is. Notice the square holes at the base of the foundation where the water exited the old water wheel.

Please park in the recommended parking area

The cache is a Tupperware container with only a logbook.
