Tämän kätkön tarkoituksena on esitellä Markku Viitasalon suunnittelema Lentoon-ympäristötaideteos.
This cache introduce the Lentoon environmental artwork. Lentoon is designed by Markku Viitasalo.

[FIN]: Ympäristötaideteos sijaitsee Kuopiossa, Itä-Suomen yliopiston kampusalueella. Kuopion kaupunki lahjoitti sen silloiselle Kuopion korkeakoululle vuonna 1982. Muistomerkin haluttiin symboloivan maakunnallista korkeakoulun rakentamistahtoa ja kulttuuritahtoa sekä juhlistavan korkeakoulun 10-vuotis- ja kaupungin 200-vuotissyntymäpäiviä. Teos on pystytetty järven pohjaan. Teoksessa olennainen lahden pohjukkaan suuntautuva liike jatkuu myös teoksen ulkopuolelle, kun sen ja rannan välissä on runsaasti ilmaa. Veden liike ja peilaus sekä katsojan liikkeet ovat lisäksi tärkeä osa teoksen kokonaisuutta.
[ENG]: This environmental artwork is placed at the Kuopio campus of University of Eastern Finland. This artwork was presented to University of Kuopio by city of Kuopio in 1982. The artwork symbolized provincial will of building and cultural volition of the university. The artwork also solemnized the 10th anniversary of University of Kuopio and 200th anniversary of city of Kuopio. The artwork was set up in the bottom of the lake. A movement from the artwork to the far end of bay will continue to outside from the artwork when there is lot of air between the artwork and a shore. A movement of the water, reflecting and movements of a viewer are very important pieces of the whole artwork.
