Cameron Brown Park's Easy Night Cache Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

This cache is no longer an easy night cache. The area has changed significantly since it was hidden as an easy introduction to night caching. It has become exactly the type of cache I would hate to hunt since it is not what it's meant to be.

When I went out to spiff it up tonight, I was embarrassed by its condition. I offer my apologies to the recent hunters of this cache and I offer thanks to baron41 for alerting me to the cache's situation.

Geocache Description:

This cache was placed in conjunction with the Germantown Parks and Recreation Department's Intro To Night Caching class scheduled for March 14, 2009.
You can hunt it before then if you want.

Proceed to the posted coordinates, turn on your flashlight and peer through the V. Follow the reflectors to the cache, which is hidden very close to the tree with four reflectors in a vertical line.

Park hours are Dawn to 11pm. Don't go hunting this cache outside those hours.

There are ball fields and picnic areas nearby. Please try not to draw undue attention to yourself as you make your way through the course. You don't want the cache to get muggled, do you?

I thought it would be a good idea to give some tips on night-caching on the page here since this cache is really meant to be an introduction to night-caching.

 • A red filter on your flashlight works best to preserve night vision. Your Q-beam spotlight will work, but it's just a little bit of overkill and will definitely draw some of that undue attention...
 • Mark a waypoint for your car or at least the place you want to get back to after hunting the cache. It can be difficult to get your bearings in the dark if the evil cache hider has spun you in circles.
 • Wear long pants. Even in the Summer. The thorns and critters you see during the day can be rather stealthy at night.
 • Don't do anything that will get you hurt. Stop and think about it before you decide to swim across a lake.
 • Bring a friend and a camera to document the fun.
 • West Tennessee is criss-crossed with old barbed wire. It'll grab you by the ankle before you know it.
 • Have fun! That creepy growl you heard off in the woods to your left was probably just a bunny rabbit.
