The Higher Tower
NEW, and UPDATED as of 12/24/2011! Moved slightly from the previous location (where it was muggled) and reloaded with nice swag and a few trackables.
This is probably the highest lookout in our area, and I was proud it kept it's status when the nearby structure was placed. It still has braggin' rights, even though it is retired.
12-24-2011 - IT IS NOW A HISTORICAL SITE! See the image gallery for the plaque. From time to time the local Historical Society opens the gates and allows visitors, even those brave enough to climb the tower. I had planned a trip but weather closed the visit the second day, and I did not get the pictures I needed to update the cache page.
This is no longer a common structure in our modern world. I have often wondered what it would be like to spend the day up there.
Original items include toy swag and a log. Also, we placed this one out there with a Kansas Sunshine Geocoin to entice someone to find it quick and move it along...we brought it back from the LR area last week.
Path will be wet or muddy most times. Don't let that deter you. This cache is NOT in the enclosed area....stay out of the enclosed area. AND....let me know whether YOU think it's the Higher Tower...
