Geocache Description:

Sterling Mine Ditch Trail approximately 2 miles from Bear Gulch trailhead. Low elevation trail approximately 450 elevation gain.

Take a hike on the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail. It is beautiful year round with great views of the Upper Applegate Valley and the high Siskiyous. Listen closely for coyotes, I have heard them several times here. The trail reaches the site of the Sterling Mine Ditch about 1 mile from the Bear Gulch Trailhead, then follows the ditch which completed construction in 1877. Make a right when you get to the ditch and go about .9 miles to the cache. Cammoed plastic peanut jar containing a log book and pencil.

Can be accessed from the other trailheads as well.
