Geocache Description:

Desuden ses en figursten over Ove Lunge (død 1540) og hans to hustruer.

This cache is created on the occasion of my little niece Kathrine baptism in Engum Church 1 February 2009. Moreover, I was both baptized and confirmed in the church.

Engum Church believed built in the place where some Irish monks found themselves down as they o.950 came to a nearby Viking settlement of the missionary.
Choir and the ship listed in the Romanesque period of frådsten without visible base. A pair of round curved windows glimpse into masonry.
The eastgable of the choir has been changed with cornerlisens and rising circular arcs, all in stone monk.
Tower and porch listed in lategothic time. The tower on all sides two small round holes in the curved glam Gothic style. In østgavlen seen three circleglares on a doublehole in tip curved mirror.
The north wall of the tower WP N55 44.456 E9 39.465 visible outline of an entrance door to an earlier grave chapel in the tower room. The conserved doorstep inroads seen a motif  which is believed to come from the Irish monks who came to Engum o.950. The motive is pretty rundown, but it is reconstructed and can now be seen in the church logo. Motif consists of a so-called Celtic cross (a cross inscribed in a circle), the cross worn by a rod around the rod are two ornamental decoration is meant to symbolize day and night, or good and evil.
The weapons seen a house fire, which probably has been used in connection with the weapons the house was a school room or meeting room. Also seen a figure of stone Ove Lung (died 1540) and his two wives.

The church was restored in 1967.

Cache is a log-scroll, remember pencil.
