Is Frodo home? Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

CaptainKevin: Finally got by to check on this and found it gone. Area has changed a bit and not sure I want to bring folks to this sensitive spot anymore so...time to let it go. Also, with the WP1 and final, this cache takes up too much of the park and it is a good time to let others have some fun in this great park. Six years is a good run and glad so many have enjoyed this one.

Cache on!

Geocache Description:

A multi-cache in a popular park in Shoreline. Look for a micro at WP1 and a medium size lock ‘n lock at final.

Another cache in my favorite park near home. When my “Hidden in Hamlin” was published I saw a couple of comments that they thought this park was full. Well, au contraire mes amies! This is just too cool a park not to be fully utilized and enjoyed by geocachers. Of course, I had to do a bunch of hiking around to find spots that did not conflict with the other caches in the area but, that was the fun part. This will be my third here (actually four since I adopted Flamin’ Hot Redux) and I believe that Hamlin is now officially full. For now, anyway.

You are looking for a camo’ed bison at WP1 and a lock ‘n lock at final. There are some small toy animals and a butterfly fridge door magnet. There is also an un-activated travel bug for FTF.

No bushwhacking required. Please try to stay on trails. If you have a mountain bike, the trails are open for bikes but watch out for dogs walking their owners.

Parking is available by the side of the road along NE 168th ST close to WP1. Or you can park at the main parking area at 47º 44.747N, 122º 18.568W. Bathrooms and a kid’s play area are nearby. If you park here, you can have a nice walk through the park to get to the cache and also visit some of the other active caches in this park. Last time here, I saw a Barred Owl getting ready for his nights hunting. There is lots of evidence of Pileated Woodpeckers at work but I haven’t seen one yet. Just a matter of time. Enjoy your visit!

Congrats to NBJPoppa for FTF! He even got to sleep in!

Update 2/16/11: seems like people have been having trouble with WP1. It isn't that hard because the WP is only 10-15 feet from a small trail that goes around the patch of brush that some folks are trying to walk through. Look around before you bushwhack!
