Rattlingcrew: Owner has not logged in since August, this one has a rough history anyway. I think its time has come. Thanks for the note and the contributions you made to the game. Glen

Geocache Description:

In an interesting part of Chanute History

This cache is in the little-known Highland Park in Chanute. According to the sign at the entrance, the City of Chanute originally purchased this 10 acre plot of land as a rock quarry on September 11, 1902. It was dedicated as a park on April 5, 1912, after the January 10, 1912, Park Bond Election.

Along with the playground aspect, this park features pretty scenery, walking paths and tennis courts to practice your forehand or backhand. Many birthday parties and family reunions are held here. There is also a huge water fountain that lights up at night.

Check out the City of Chanute's web site for other family friendly places in Chanute.

The cache container is a small Ziploc bowl with a log. Please bring your own pen and please make sure the lid tightly seals. Travel Bugs and Geocoins are highly recommended to trade. HappyHunting!

Congrats to SiglerSearchers for being FTF!!!
