I place this cache as a historical marker for an event that took
place over a year ago. I looked for the location of this act and
all I found was an empty store front with a spry of flowers hanging
from the door handle. Log gone is the store sign and crime tape. As
I searched for a location at a respectable distance I discovered
the white crosses placed in the ground for the victims.
Unsolved Tinley Park slayings haunt families and
officials.
A year (as of 1-23-09) has passed since a gunman walked
into a Lane Bryant clothing store in south suburban Tinley Park,
killed five women execution-style in the backroom and seemingly
vanished into the frigid February morning. The crime—the worst mass
murder in village history—has faded from the news pages and
