The Spirit of Mount Omblos
This Cache will lead you to the Omblos Mountain close to the city of Patras. You can approach from Patras centre while following the signs to the „Achaia Clauss Winery“. If you are coming from the bypass ring road take the exit „Patras Centre, Glafkos“ and also follow the signs to „Achaia Clauss“. From "Achaia Clauss" follow the road to Saravali and then the signs that will lead you to the Omblos Monastery, unfortunately most of the signs are in greek only. If you like you can combine this cache with "View of Patras" (GC17AWQ) which starts in the Area of Achaia Clauss and will lead you also to the Onblos Mountain.
Don´t get fooled by the serpentines then you will easily find WP1.
The last few hundred metres to WP1 the road turns to a gravel road, but if you drive carefully it´s not a problem to go there.
After you found the cache you can walk within 5 minutes to the monastery which is just around the corner. It was founded 1189 and you can visit it from the morning until 12:00 and the from 16:00 until 20:00 in the evening.
Please note that most fences in Greece are not ment to keep you out, but to keep goats and sheeps in or outside. So please if you pass a closed fence, close it behind you again.
WP 1
Go to the start coordinates of the cache. Here you can also park your car, since the other WP´s are in short walking distance.
At the given coordinates you will find a plate with a greek inscription. To find the next WP you have to solve the following task:
N 38° 10. ABC
E 021° 46.DEF
A = Count the letters of the first word in the first row.
B = Count the total number of rows on the plate.
C = How often can you count the letter „H“?
D = Count the letters of the second word in the first row.
E = Count the letter Omega and divide by 3.
F = Count the letters of the first word in the seventh row.
WP 2
Please follow the road along the fence until you´ll find an „official“ gate to enter.
At WP 2 you will have an magnificent view over Patras and to the Panachaiko Mountain, but also again you have to solve the next task to find the final coordinates:

E 021° 46.JKJ
G = You will find a four digit date here, take the only even number and multiply it by 2.
H = The first digit of the date.
I = Add first and last digit of the date.
J = Count the „fruits“ in the treetop (crown).
K = Watch the date from upside down. Out of the four numbers you can only read one now, which one?
P.S. If you are standing at the edge of the viewpoint, take a look down and under the bushes you will probably find one of the most exposed places to sit and rest in all over Greece.
PLEASE, only go if you are not afraid of heights.
