Geocache Description:

Night cache located in Cameron Brown Park in Germantown, TN.

This is a short cache which will introduce you to night caching while taking you through a wooded area near the tennis courts and the road. This cache is intended to be done at night. The cache hider strongly prefers you not to hunt this cache during the daytime.

Near the route of this cache are the bat houses which the Germantown Park Department has placed in Cameron Brown Park. Perhaps if you are lucky you will encounter one of these lovable furry creatures of the night while you search for this cache.

Bats are mammals, having fur and giving birth to living young. Bats in the United States almost exclusively feed on insects which makes them quite beneficial. A single bat can eat several hundred mosquitoes and other insect pests in just one hour.

The parking coordinates on this cache page are recommended.

Begin your hunt for this cache by looking near the listed coordinates for a tree with a single reflective tac in it. This is the first tree and the tac is about 6 feet high. Walk just past the tree into the woods. From here you will start looking for more trees with reflective tacs. Some tacs are high and some are not. In many cases you will have to walk all the way to the reflective tac before you will be able to see the next tac.

The lights from the tennis courts can be quite distracting at times! However, those lights by themselves do not provide adequate illumination to hunt this cache and certainly do not provide the light needed to find the tacs.

Keep following the trail of tacs until you reach a tree with four tacs in it. When you see that tree you should look for a container with red on it. The container should not be hard to locate and is within a few feet of the tree.

This cache trail can be muddy after a recent rain. Watch for thorns and holes in the ground! Obey all park rules. The park is open from dawn until 11pm daily unless otherwise posted.

BY HUNTING THIS CACHE YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL SAFETY WHEN SEEKING THIS GEOCACHE.

Special thanks to Tiger130 and to Bitbrain who "tested" this cache for me and made good suggestions.

Have fun!
