Geocache Description:

God jagt.

English:
This one is a personal tribute to the music department at The Central Library in Nykøbing F (now part of the Guldborgsund libraries), who as early as in 1967 started lending out music - and became one of the first libraries in the country to do so.

In the beginning there was 800 LP albums to lend, and the repertoire consisted of both jazz and The Beatles. As a new loaner you received 3 tokens, and were then able to loan 3 beat records at a time, in return for the tokens.

This was where I listened to all the music I never heard before, and listened again to the music that otherwise only was available by listening to Radio Luxembourg and Radio Caroline on a scrambled medium wave on my old transistor radio.

Many things have happened over the years: the library music collection grew big, cassette tapes came, one could listen to the music before you brought it home, you had to bring your home record player pickup so the librarian could check it in a microscope, music books and magazines, notes, CDs (in the late 80s), DVDs with movies and concerts, and one of the newest things is that you are able to loan library music through the internet.

The cache is a black nano, located in the library garden, in walking distance from Nykøbing Falster town centre. It can't play musik and it is not for loan - but you can write your name in it. The cache contains only a log. Remember to bring your own pencil.

Good hunting.
