Geocache Description:

I hope you are not afraid of the dark or of things that go bump in the night because this cache can only be done at night with the aid of a headlamp or flashlight.

This night cache requires you to follow a trail that is illuminated by fire tacks. In order to see these trail markers your light beam must be at eye level, which is why headlamps work best. Flashlights will also work but must be held at eye level.

If you are up for the challenge read on:
The posted coordinates are for parking. At the end of the road you will see the trail head. Travel southwest about 90-100 yards through some cedar trees and then start looking for the single reflective fire tacks. You should only need to travel a short distance between fire tacks before the next fire tack becomes visible. When you reach the tree with two fire tacks, stop and search with your light until you find a tree with three fire tacks. Underneath those three tacks you will find the camoed 6”x 4”x 7” Lock-n-Lock cache. Trade items should be anything night time related (glow sticks, glow in the dark toys, batteries, etc.)

There are several steep drop offs near the trail so be careful. I would call the terrain a 2.5 during the day, but in the dark it will be challenging so we rated it a 3.5. The only steep and non-trail section is between the tree with two fire tacks and the tree with three fire tacks. Round trip distance should only be about ½ mile unless of course you get lost in the woods.

To find your way back you are on your own so I suggest you turn on the tracback feature on your GPS.

We hope you have as much fun on the trail as we did when we set it up. Be safe and have fun!

The cache also contains a Virtual Ghost Micro Geocoin whose goal is to visit as many night caches as possible.
