Geocache Description:

The Lade Braes walk begins in the town itself but this series of caches are set along the open area following the Kinnes Burn

The walk can be accessed from many places along the main road but we have set a series of 6 which, when combined, make a pleasant walk along the (approx) mile of the Lade Braes.

This Cache is set at one of the one of several mills that once lined the waterway. The gable stone of the New Mill proclaims the date 1658 but the mill is at least 100 years older It was used to mill barley and corn, but there was also a waulkmill close by, used for tightening the weave of textiles.

The land across the burn from the mill was once a quarry. After that closed it was used as a rifle range and it is now a bird sanctuary.

As this cache has been set as part of the Langspoon Stirs Again it is not able to be logged till Friday April 3rd
