Bad Boulder Junkyard is a geological landmark set in the jewel city park of Dierke's Lake.
This one is easy to get close to but hard to get to. You get it? Set in the Dierke's Lake park you'll get a little excercise and then test your climbing skills getting to this. Probably not for tots and little ones but teens and tweens and even a few adults can do it with ease.
The massive boulders in this area were deposited during the great Bonneville Lake flood about 14,500 years ago, when huge torrents of water swept through the area, strong enough to move these car sized rocks and neatly stack them in this so called, "bad boulder junkyard" just above Shoshone Falls.
The cache is in a small plastic container, tucked away in one of the many hiding places between boulders. It is partially covered by rocks to make it not so obvious.
Take care in the spring / summer to avoid the poison oak in the area.
* The pics listed below aren't spoilers but may give some clues to the location, so you may want to view them after your find.
