This 24-acre wooded lot sits on a rise overlooking the Octoraro
Creek and is one of the easternmost properties of the Lancaster
County Conservancy. The available cover and food sources make the
area attractive to more than 50 species of birds. There also are a
variety of geologic rock types, including outcrops of green
serpentine rock and the typical flora associated with this unique
geology. Green briar, fox grapes, witch hazel and wild yam root
dominate the understory. Large white oaks, red oaks, maples and
hickories dominate the forest canopy. There are no established
trails, but there is an old dirt road that runs through the
property.
