Geocache Description:

This cache is placed with permission of Surf City Parks and Recreation.

Due to construction for our new Turtle Hospital the cache was moved to a safer hiding spot so the coordinates are a little off.

Welcome to Surf City! Most vacationers arrive on our island and run to the beach. Sand, sun and the sound of waves, sadly they miss the true beauty that surrounds us. This series of caches is designed to open the eyes of everyone to our fragile and ever changing barrier island ecosystem.

A barrier island is just that; the barrier between the ocean and the mainland. This cache is placed in a hidden spot on the ‘mainland’.

It is very easy to become ‘Island locked’ once you cross the bridge to Topsail Island, but Surf City has hidden treasures in places you may not have found. So here you go for a walk in the woods that you might not have known was here waiting for you.

By moving at warp speed, FTF goes to Captain Kirk!!
