Cache is located a short walking distance from the road where you can also park off the shoulder. If school is not in session, you could also park in the school parking lot where the walk would be a bit longer.
The nearby Northland Lutheran High School has had a long reputation of serving a large number of international students. At times the enrollment of international students exceeded 15 percent of the total enrollment. Over the years that I taught there, I served as the unofficial social director for these kids. My wife and I hosted one student for 4 years, as well as housing several for short terms while they were waiting for long term housing. Even after they graduated from Northland, many of them attended US colleges and during break would return to Wausau rather than going back home. This cache is dedicated to them. Many of the swag items were things they brought with them as souvenirs to share with new friends they met here, items they left with me when they moved on. There is some real cool stuff in there, as well as some of my personal, signature swag. The old, smaller container has been replaced by a larger, traditional ammo box. With the new container and contents, I even included a new FTF prize you can redeem nearby, Cache is located in an area used by the high school for snowshoeing, biology field studies, environmental education, and phy. ed classes, as well as a Christmas nativity performance that is done most every year. During the summer and fall, this area sprouts a good deal of poison ivy so cachers should be advised to wear long pants. Permission to place this cache was given by the administrator of the high school.
