The name of Kinrinko means "Gold Scale Lake" in Japanese.
The lake is located in the center of Yufuin town where is famous for its hot spring and the beauriful Mt.Yufu.
The hot spring gushes in the lake as well as several streams flow to the lake, so the temperature of the lake hardly changes through the year.
Steam rises from the surface when outside temperature is low, then the lake is wrapped in the fantastic atmosphere.
