Geocache Description:

Looking for a Lock-n-Lock container with log book and trade items. Please replace and cover as you find it. Beware, muggles are everywhere.

Once a major steam boat hub on the Tennessee River, Kingston's waterfront is now mainly used for recreational enjoyment. Kingston was founded in 1799 and is the second oldest city in Tennessee. It was the state capital for one day on September 21, 1807, and remains the county seat for Roane County. Located in the center of Kingston is one of only seven antebellum courthouses remaining in Tennessee.

In the spring of 2006, the dock was complete and the new riverboat, the Watts Bar Belle moved into town. The Watts Bar Belle is a true split wheel paddlewheel vessel. She holds up to 149 passengers, is fully equipped with a galley and refreshment center, fully air conditioned, and equipped with a stabilized dish antenna and 42” flat panel TV for sporting events and business presentations.

However, at the end of 2008, the Belle left Kingston. The dock remains as it was built by the city. The Belle now operates out of the Ft Loudon Marina in Lenoir City.
