This is a multicache for book lovers and historians and features the Collinsville section of Canton, CT. The coordinates listed above take you to a stone marker (stage one) where the old Canton/Collinsville Library was ruled by Margaret "Peg" Perry, a sister of actress Katharine Hepburn and longtime Canton librarian, who was a great character in her own right.
Known for her love of books, her strong opinions and sense of humor, Perry lived in Canton Center for 60 years. For 35 of those years, she served as librarian for the Canton Public Library. Patrons learned that Perry could find any book, article or archive within the library's holdings. She was known to regale visitors by reading aloud a letter from her more famous sister, her gravely voice eerily similar to Kate's. But woe to an overdue borrower who might have Perry show up at his or her front door!
STAGE ONE: From the stone marker get the answers to the following questions which will lead you to the coordinates for stage two:
1 On what day and year did Jasper Bidwell give his land to the Canton Soldiers Memorial Association? Plug those digits into the following N41 DY.YYY (D is the day, YYYY is the year). SUBTRACT N 00 32.574 from your answer to get the latitudinal coordinate.
2. On what day and year was the Collinsville Memorial Library built on the site? Plug those digits into W7D DY.YYY (DD is Day, YYYY is Year). ADD W01 43.352 to your answer to give you the longitudinal coordinates of the stage two.
STAGE TWO: You have a choice to walk, bike, or drive to stage two.
Take the 0.5 mile walk along the bike path and then a couple of blocks for a good walk. Any way you get there, these figured coordinates will bring you to a little chocolate - colored girl sitting on the bench. You can talk to her all day, she never answers. However, a wish is seated on her lap. The wish is, “May every child be touched by the magic that is art” Two years can be found here too. ADD the earlier year to N41 47.359 and ADD the later year to W72 53.308 as below:

FINAL COORDINATES!!!! Walk to the cache The cache is a cammo’ed 3 X 5 lock- n -lock Tupperware containing a deck of cards for the first to find, travel bug, and the typical log and various sundries. Small items and small bugs only please. A bit of stealth would be handy if muggles are about.-.
