Geocache Description:

This 2 stage puzzle cache cache is hidden for the 5th Annual Vancouver Island Hide and Go.

Solve the puzzle to get the coordinates that take you to a round object on the ground with 3 words on it. Stop and take in the view from here. Count the number of vowels and multiply by 16.375. Add 3 to this number giving X. From the object, the cache is X meters away at 271 degrees true. Cache is under a rock on the uphill side of the path.

The Puzzle

Everyone in this years VIGPS Wild and Woolly Hide and Go is one of 3 types of cachers – a Trutha who always tells the truth, a Lia, who always lies, or a Botha who alternates between true and false statements.

Last week, the VIGPS server crashed, and 3 Geocachers, each from a different Victoria area discussed 3 possible reasons (Bandwidth overload, a power failure, or untrained operators).

2 out of town cachers, one from the USA and one from England overhearing the conversation, needed no further information to agree upon the cause of the server crash. From the statements below, can you determine each Geocachers type as well as the cause of the Server crash?

The Saanich cacher said:
1. I always lie
2. The Langford cacher is a Trutha

The Victoria cacher said:
3. This wait isn’t so bad
4. Last weeks bandwidth overload caused the crash

The Langford cacher said:
5. All of the operators have been fully trained
6. VIGPS has it’s own message board
