The cache is not at the above location & it is NOT on private property! This is a puzzle cache where the geocacher will obtain information from three different locations which will then provide the coordinates for the cache location.
In honor of Abraham Lincolnâs 200th birthday in 2009, we created this first puzzle cache in Macomb for a few different reasons. We would like to bring attention to the beautiful courthouse in downtown Macomb, IL. Since Mi3Sprouts have been geocaching, Mommy Sprouts has really been enjoyed seeing all the beautiful old courthouses and this one remains her favorite. During the past few years, several places across the state have highlighted a connection to Lincoln, so Mommy Sprouts wanted to bring Macombâs connection to the attention of fellow geocachers. If you want to find more about other Lincoln sites in Illinois, go to this website: www.lookingforlincoln.com. We challenge other geocachers to set up âLooking for Lincolnâ caches in other locations.
In order to complete this mystery cache, you will need to visit three different locations near the McDonough County Courthouse. You will find information at each of these locations that will help you answer the questions below. Plug the answers into the formula and the 3 digit answer will be âABCâ of the north coordinates. When you go to each location, make sure to read each question. The questions are purposely out of order to make it a little more challenging, yet informative! The answers to the west coordinates can be found by answering 3 different questions.
