Geocache Description:

Does anyone remember Seabreeze Raceway? This is cache # 2, of a series of old, or present race tracks in Nova Scotia. I am a big Nascar race fan, and wanted to put out some caches with race themes. In this cache I started out with some nascar swag. Med size camo lock n lock.

Congrats to 4frenchfrys for FTF :c)

Seabreeze Raceway Lawrencetown, NS
Years in Operation: 1966-1971
Track Configurations: 1/4 mile dirt oval (1966-1969)
1/4 mile paved oval (1970-71)

I tried to get back to this track, but it is located on a private rd. I hid the cache as close to the track, without too much bush whacking involved. If you park behind the Church, Bush whacking is minimal.

The track was built during 1965 by a group of local volunteers. It opened for racing in 1966 as a dirt track. The track was paved for the 1970 season and it closed at the end of the 1971 season. The pits appear to have been located behind the back straight. The area is very overgrown now but can still be seen from Google earth. lots of debris still remain - wood, steel, tires, body parts and even an old race car. On the google satellite map, zoom out and up from the cache site, to see the track
