Geocache Description:

Hidden with permission from the Portage Parks & Recreation Department, the organization that manages this 10-acre property.

At one time, this was owned and and operated by the steel mills which used it as a "Supervisor's Club." It featured an in-ground pool, basketball courts, a playground, and a baseball diamond. The building and land were then left unattended for a number of years. In 1995, the Portage Redevelopment Commission purchased the land and handed over the operations to the Park Dept. The pool was filled in, picnic shelters were built, and it is now used primarily as a banquet center for various receptions, meetings, and in-house programs.

I had fun exploring this area, so I hope you will too. Most times I am there, I run across a few deer... I counted 12 grazing by the shelters when I placed the cache.

Container is larger than a typical "regular" but smaller than a "large."

Special prize for FTF!!! (good luck getting it out)

Congrats to kkooll2 for FTF - enjoy your prize!
