Arizona is full of old cabins that I wish could talk and tell their story. So many of them are so remote, it is hard to comprehend how anyone could survive this far from what we call civilization today.
This cabin is located in the Mazatzal Mountain Range close to SB Mountain. This is a difficult area to get to, so please plan your route carefully. We saw two rattlers on this trip today, so watch your step, this is their turf. There are not many caches in this area, and we thought this would be a nice destination for future cachers to come visit.
If you make the trip, please try to help carry out some of the trash that others have left in the area. If you are feeling generous, you might even take a can of food or bottle of water and leave it in the cabin for someone that might get in trouble.
As with any backcountry cache, please plan ahead and take plenty of water and dress for desert exploration. There are all the ususal cactus species and cats claw as well as lots of "hitch hikers" that want to cling to your clothes and travel with you. We left a TB in the cache, some coins and log sheet.
Enjoy the adventure!
